Samsung announced the Indian prices of its latest and greatest Galaxy S10 devices on Friday. The Galaxy S10 family will hit Indian shelves from 3 March. While the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus would start at 66,900 and 73,900, the Galaxy S10e would be a more reasonable bargain at 55,900.

Samsung is following the footsteps of Apple and Huawei by not being stingy when it comes to providing the top-end processor and a few other specifications to the lowest variant of its flagship family. Of course, some compromises have been in terms of cameras and display quality, but the S10e is undeniably premium, at least on paper. Samsung clearly wants to give the iPhone XR a neck-and-neck competition with this smartphone.

The S10e has a 5.8-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display at the front, along with an Infinity-O cutout on the right corner which accommodates the 10MP front-facing camera. Both, the display and camera are of a lower resolution when compared to its bigger brothers, but are adequate given the price. The Galaxy S10e also skips the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner which is found in the S10 and S10 Plus. Instead, it has a side-mounted optical fingerprint scanner present on the lock button.

It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The storage can be expanded via a MicroSD card up to 512GB.

In terms of optics, the Galaxy S10e has dual rear cameras comprising a wide-angle 12MP sensor and an ultra-wide 16MP sensor. The 12MP camera has dual aperture system, which can change the aperture between f/1.5 and f/2.4 while the 16MP sensor has an aperture of f/2.2.

The Galaxy S10e runs Samsung's new One UI based on Android Pie 9. It is backed by a 3,100mAh battery. The battery supports 15W fast charging and fast wireless charging. It also has 9W reverse wireless charging.

Other niceties include support for high-quality 32-bit/384kHz audio with Dolby Atmos sound and AKG tuned speakers. Active noise cancellation along with a dedicated mic is also present.

For comparison, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, which is priced at 50,999, comes with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display and an 18MP selfie camera. It is powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC paired with 10GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It has dual rear cameras with a 16MP+20MP configuration. It runs OxygenOS based on Android Pie 9 and is backed a 4,100mAh battery. It supports 30W warp charging.
