With every new iPhone release, Apple brings the new iOS update along with it. And with every yearly iOS update, there are some older iPhones that are left behind from receiving it. But, this fact might not be true for the upcoming iOS 14.

According to a fresh rumour from French site iPhonesoft, this year's iOS release may support all those devices that are currently supporting iOS 13 versions. However, iPadOS will make some cuts.

According to the rumor, iOS 14 will continue to to support the iPhone SE as well as the iPhone 6s. Every other device introduced since then will also be supported, the rumor says.

Moreover, the site also listed the phones that will get iOS 14 will include iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 11, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE and iPod touch (7th generation).

The iPhone 12 series will obviously receive the latest iOS update, as well as the rumored low-cost iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9. The site also touched on the possibility that the Cupertino-based company may drop support for the iPhone SE and iPhone 6s depending on the next several months of development.

There's more. The rumoured report on the site also released the iPad lineup which would receive the next iPadOS update. As per the report, not all iPadOS 13 devices will receive the next update. The report suggests that Apple will drop support for the iPad mini 4 and the iPad Air 2, introduced in 2015 and 2014, receptively. Both the devices are powered by the A8 and A8X chips.

According to the rumour, the iPad lineup that will receive the update include 12.9-inch iPad Pro, 11-inch iPad Pro, 10.5-inch iPad Pro, 9.7-inch iPad Pro, iPad (7th generation), iPad (6th generation), iPad (5th generation), iPad mini (5th generation) and iPad Air (3rd generation).

Apple is expected to unveil iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 at WWDC in June.

Apart from this, another rumour reveals that the 6.7 inch iPhone 12 may be thinner in size than its 2019 high-end model, the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

According to fresh renders reported on Japanese blog Mac Otakara, it is possible that the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 will be 7.4mm, which is significantly thinner than the 8.1mm design of the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The report also notes that the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 will feature a camera system with a “bigger sensor than the rear camera of iPhone 11 Pro Max."
