OnePlus announced the launch of its smart TV a couple of weeks ago, and since then it has been dropping details surrounding the device one-by-one.
The OnePlus TV is currently listed on Amazon India, and its page is being updated periodically to give us more details about the product. Amazon is currently taking registrations of interest on the dedicated landing page.
The page was recently updated to confirm the device will come with as many as eight speakers that produce a combined sound output of 50W. The listing also confirms that the TV will support Dolby Atmos.
Earlier, the company had said that the OnePlus TV will sport a 55-inch 4K QLED display that has Dolby Vision support, meaning it can support HDR 4K content. It is tipped to be powered by a MediaTek MT5670 SoC, paired with Mali G51 GPU.
The company also said the TV will be an Android device loaded with Google Assistant, Chromecast built-in and Google Play.
The OnePlus TV will be launched in India before anywhere else in the world. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau explained that India was given preference because the company had a very 'positive relationship with content providers' here.
The exact date of launch is yet to be set by the company. There were rumours of a 26 September launch date, but OnePlus hasn’t said anything about it yet.
