Poco confirmed the launch of its first smartphone of the year. The Poco X2 is set to launch on 4 February, the smartphone company confirmed on Monday.
The Chinese smartphone maker, which recently spun off from Xioami as a separate entity and is currently working towards becoming an independent legal entity in India, announced 4 February, 2020 at 12 noon as the launch date and time of Poco X2 via a tweet.
The tweet indicates Poco X2 will come with a higher screen refresh rate of more than the traditional 60Hz refresh rate. According to the trend the refresh rate can be 90Hz as other companies are also shifting to higher rate and bigger screens with their latest flagships.
According to a PTI report, Poco India General Manager C Manmohan said the company will leverage some resources from Xiaomi like after-sales but that will be done through separate agreements. The company has already established a product, sales and marketing team of its own.
"We will launch our new phone next month. We will start online and then progress to additional channels," he had already hinted.
In addition to that, Flipkart also teased the upcoming release of the smartphone. Through the teaser, the e-commerce site compares the high refresh rate of the smartphone with a generic one, without focussing much on the specifications.
Touted as the rebranded version of the Redmi K30 4G model, the Poco X2 will have similar features and specifications. The Redmi K30 4G comes with 120Hz refresh rate and a quad camera set up at the back along with a dual-camera selfie camera set up. Moreover, it comes with a punch-hole display.
However, the company has not confirmed if it will officially bringing the Redmi K30 4G variant in the garb of the Poco X2 smartphone launch but the renders surfacing on their website suggest that the design is similar to the Redmi smartphone such as USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, speakers etc.
In the recent Geekbench listing, some key specifications of the Poco X2 were revealed, including Android 10 out of the box and Snapdragon 730G SoC. Other details of the phone will unveil gradually.
