Redmi by Xiaomi launched a new smartphone in India on Monday. Named the Redmi Note 7S, the smartphone is yet another addition to the Redmi Note 7 family of smartphones launched earlier this year in February. Highlights of the smartphone include a 48MP+5MP dual rear camera setup, Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
The Redmi Note 7S will be available for ₹10,999 for the 3GB/32GB variant and ₹12,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant starting 23 May at 12 noon. It is available in Sapphire Blue, Ruby Red, Onyx Black colour variants. It will be available across Mi.com, Flipkart and Mi Homes platforms. It will be available in offline stores 24 May onwards.
The Redmi Note 7S can be thought of as a Redmi Note 7 but with a 48MP camera. It has the same Snapdragon 660 AIE processor paired with 3GB and 4GB RAM and up to 64GB internal storage. The display also remains the same, a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2340x1080. It has the same dot notch cutout as the Note 7 and Note 7 Pro. It is backed by a 4,000mAh battery which can be charged via a USB Type-C port that supports QuickCharge 4.0.
The only thing setting it apart froma regular Note 7 is the 48MP+5MP dual camera module with PDAF, EIS and AI Portrait Mode. It comes with a dedicated night mode to improve low light photography. Up front it has a 13MP selfie camera with AI Portrait mode.
The Redmi Note 7S bridges the price gap between the Note 7 and Note 7 Pro by adding a 48MP camera while sticking to the Snapdragon 660 processor.
