Following the launch of Galaxy A30, A50 and, recently, the Galaxy A70, Samsung is bringing another Galaxy A series smartphone to India. Samsung has officially confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy A80 will soon come to India.
The Samsung Galaxy A80 was launched in Thailand, along with the Galaxy A70, last month. While Samsung has already launched the Galaxy A70 here at ₹28,990, it wait a little longer to bring the Galaxy A80 to India.
Samsung told Mint that the Galaxy A80 is expected to be priced between ₹40,000 and ₹50,000 and that it will compete directly against the OnePlus 7 Pro. The pricing would also make it the most expensive Galaxy A-series smartphone to date.
It is expected to boost Samsung's chances of meeting its expectations of making $4 billion in revenues from its Galaxy A series of phones this year.
The main attraction of the Galaxy A80 lies in its rotating camera mechanism, which could be doubled up as a selfie camera. The triple-camera setup employs a 48MP+8MP configuration along with another 3D depth sensor. The 48MP sensor clicks high resolution images while the 8MP ultra wide angle sensor offers a field of view of 123 degrees. The 3D depth sensor offers “Live Focus" videos functionality, similar to the one found in the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and P30 Pro.
It is lit by a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED “New Infinity" display that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It rocks the recently launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It is backed by a 3,700 mAh battery with support for “super-fast" charging.
