Xiaomi is set to launch its next Android One device in India—the Mi A3. Xiaomi India MD Manu Kumar Jain today posted a tweet that confirmed the launch date of the upcoming smartphone

"Crack this simple equation and tell me in comments. We are launching #48MPAndroidOne on 21st August at 12 noon," he said in the tweet.

The Mi A3 is the successor to the Mi A2 smartphone that was launched last year and will be third Android device from the Chinese smartphone maker.

It has its roots in the Mi CC9e that was in July in China as a stripped down variant of the Mi CC9. The Mi A3 has already been launched in Spain last month at a price of €279 (about 22,200).

The smartphone comes with a 6-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1560x720. It has a U-shaped notch to accommodate the front facing camera. It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 665 chipset paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage.

At the back, it has a triple camera setup in a 48MP+8MP+2MP configuration. At the front it has a 32MP selfie camera.

It is backed by a 4,030mAh battery and ships with an 18W fast charger.

The main selling point of the smartphone is its design. Xiaomi, during the launch of Mi CC9, said that the smartphone was designed by art students. The Mi A3 will come with stunning back panels that refract light to form wavy reflections.

Like all Android One devices, the Mi A3 runs the latest version of Android and guarantees consistent software and security updates.
