Xiaomi launched a new bluetooth speaker to increase the range of its offerings in the audio segment. The new gadget is being promoted as an outdoor-friendly portable speaker that can fit in your palm. While the company already has similar offerings, the new design is developed for a different audience.
The bluetooth speaker is launched at a price of ₹1,399 which the company claims is selling at a discount of 30% from its original price of ₹1,999. Interested buyers can purchase the speaker at Xiaomi’s official website. So far, the company is only offering the speaker in black colour.
Coming to the specifications, Xiaomi is offering IPX5 rating with the speaker to at least make it splash proof and functional in light rain as well. The speaker has an output of 5W and also comes with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
In terms of battery, Xiaomi is claiming to provide 20 hours of usage which is powered by a 2000mAh battery unit. To charge the unit, the device gets a MicroUSB port and to connect with other devices there’s an AUX port. Xiaomi claims that the device also gets support for voice assistants. However, they haven’t specified if its compatible with Google Home and Alexa. The speaker also gets a lanyard cable for added safety and convenience.
Xiaomi also launched a new product category in India under their sub-brand Redmi. The company introduced Redmi powerbanks with capacities of 10000mAh and 20000mAh. The powerbank is priced at ₹799 for the 10000mAh unit and ₹1,399 for the 20000mAh unit.
