Apple investor Warren Buffett finally switches to an iPhone, from a flip phone

One of Apple's largest shareholders, Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett, has finally traded his old flip phone with an iPhone.

Talking during an interview aired by CNBC, the octogenarian billionaire revealed that he recently shifted from his earlier flip phone to get one of the iPhones.

"My flip phone is permanently gone. The number's been changed," shared Buffett in the interview. He also teased that he might crush his old phone at Berkshire Hathaway's upcoming annual meeting in May.

So, which iPhone model is he using?

Buffett said that he has got "the latest model," but it seems unlikely that he uses a lot of those apps and even Apple animojis. He simply uses the iPhone "as a phone," he said, for calling and texting - the most primary function of any phone

"You're looking at an 89-year-old guy who's barely beginning to be with it," Buffett shared.

Albeit the fact that he has been given "several" iPhones over the years by the company, including those from Apple CEO Tim Cook, he confessed that he never used those smartphones for his personal use until now.

Buffett deliberately did not want to shift to smartphones and instead used a Samsung flip phone while the world smoothly transitioned from flip phones to smartphones and again to latest smart foldable phones. His older phone was a Samsung SCH-U320. He also showed it off in an earlier interview as reports suggest and joked that Alexander Graham-Bell gave it to him.

Buffett's company, Berkshire Hathaway owns a 5.6% stake in Apple, making it one of the largest shareholders of the Cupertino-based iPhone manufacturer. Dubbed the "Oracle of Omaha," Buffett is known for his track record of brilliant investing but also for his folksy and humble persona, as well as his philanthropy.

Being a billionaire, Warren Buffett has a net worth of $88.9 billion, according to Forbes and his company Berkshire Hathaway is one of the most valuable companies in the United States, worth more than $560 billion.

However, this is not the only new Apple product that he has recently started using. He previously shared that he uses an iPad to check stocks.
