A fraudulent scheme is currently circulating on the internet under the guise of the Indian government. Scammers are spreading false information to users, claiming that the government of India is providing complimentary laptops to students. They assert that individuals can take advantage of this offer by registering on an official website and providing certain personal information. However, it is crucial for users to be aware that this claim is entirely false, as verified by PIB Fact Check.

The scam is being propagated through a poster titled "Prime Minister Free Laptop Scheme 2023-24" that is currently in circulation. PIB Fact Check, after detecting the fraudulent poster, took to Twitter to affirm that the Ministry of Education in India is not engaged in any initiative providing free laptops. The scammers involved in this deceptive scheme have falsely asserted that students from any Indian state can avail themselves of this offer.

Notably, the fraudulent poster advertises a recent government initiative, enticing individuals with the promise of receiving a complimentary laptop. To claim the offer, people are requested to provide their personal information and are advised to regularly visit the government's official website, as provided in the poster.
