Elon Musk's X down for thousands of users in India

Elon Musk led social media platform X (formerly Twitter) is facing outage issues for several users in India. Users have complained about being met with “Something went wrong. Try reloading.” screen when opening the social media app.

As per outage tracking platform Downdetector, complains about X outage peaked at over 1,300 at around 5:14PM India time. 44% of the users complained about not being able to access “Feeds”, 31% of them reported problems with the X website while 25% of the users faced issues with “Server Connection”.

Why is X down?

The compay is yet to clarify the reason behind the current outage but many users have reported facing error messages related to Cloudflare, suggesting that the website may have been affected by the recent Cloudflare outage.

Cloudflare has already confirmed the issue in one of its status page and said it is working on a fix.

“Cloudflare is experiencing an internal service degradation. Some services may be intermittently impacted. We are focused on restoring service. We will update as we are able to remediate. More updates to follow shortly.”

As part of the remedial efforts, Cloudflare says it has temporarily disabled its VPN like WARP service in London.

Notably, the disruption to X comes at a time when Musk announced a new Grok model update which dethroned even Google Gemini and OpenAI's ChatGPT on the popular LMArena leaderboard. xAI says that after the Grok 4.1 update, the chatbot should feel faster, much nicer to talk to, more understanding and more helpful than its predecessor.
