Netflix latest feature makes it easy for you to decide what to watch

With new shows, series and movies arriving on streaming platforms almost every alternate day, it seems like a huge struggle to decide what content should you watch that would not only entertain you but also keep you on top of all 'best' shows that everyone is watching.
Well, Netflix has finally come to your rescue. In its latest update, Netflix has added a feature that will rank the 10 most popular programs in your country on its platform that. Starting today, Netflix will display its Top 10 Overall list from the most popular shows (movies and series) from all over its streaming platform content. Additionally, you can see separate top 10 lists for movies and shows when you switch from the main Homepage to either the Movies or TV show tab in the app. The feature is available on all the devices that support Netflix.
According to a Tech Crunch report, the Top 10 lists across the platform will be updated daily, says Netflix, and are intended to help users find out what titles everyone is watching.
Earlier, Netflix had rows featuring both popular and trending content — but these didn’t rank content in order. Now, the shows on the home page will carry a Top 10 badge on the top left corner wherever they appear on Netflix. This essentially means that you would see a Top 10 badge on the show's tile or even the numeral ranking of the show on the top preview plane while you are browsing through your recommendations.
These lists will appear on your Netflix homepage but the position may vary depending on what content you like to watch. For example, if you are into horror shows, a list showing teen rom-com will not appear higher on the screen as it would to someone who prefers the latter shows.
The top 10 lists all over Netflix does not offer any hard metrics, but can at least point out what its most popular programming.
“When you watch a great movie or TV show, you share it with family and friends, or talk about it at work, so other people can enjoy it too. We hope these top 10 lists will help create more of these shared moments, while also helping all of us find something to watch more quickly and easily," explained Netflix in a statement about the launch to Tech Crunch.
Meanwhile, in India, Netflix has scrapped the first month free trial offering for the Indian consumers. The new users will now have to pay ₹5 for the first month after which they can choose any of Netflix’s regular plans. Since it is just a test, only some - and not all - new members will see it when they sign up for Netflix.
