OnePlus 7T renders leaked ahead of launch: Here's what it may have to offer

  • The renders hint at a smaller dew drop notch
  • The smartphone is expected to come with a 48MP+16MP+12MP rear camera configuration

The OnePlus 7T will be launched in a few hours from now, and just ahead of the company's Special Event, the official renders and specifications of the smartphone have been leaked online.

So far, OnePlus has only revealed the back of the OnePlus 7T, but the new renders show the smartphone front to back. The renders, posted by Indian leakster Ishan Agarwal and German tracker WinFuture, hint at a smaller dew drop notch at the top of the display. They also reveal a new colour variant that looks like a matte silver-black gradient. This might be the new finish OnePlus CEO Pete Lau was talking about when introducing the first official renders of the smartphone.

"The new smooth and matte surface featured on OnePlus’ upcoming flagship gleams with a metallic radiance enabled by OnePlus’ endless pursuit for design and texture excellence," said Lau. He added that it is more than excited to be introducing this new finish on its upcoming flagships and that “no detail is too small to be perfected."

The smartphone is expected to ship with a 90Hz high refresh rate display with a resolution of 2,000x1,080. The smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

At the back, the smartphone has been teased to come with triple cameras housed in a horizontal fashion within a circular dial. It will retain the 48MP sensor from the OnePlus 7, but will come with a wide angle 16MP camera along with a 12MP sensor.

It should pack a 3,800mAh battery with support for OnePlus' Warp Charge technology.

It is expected to ship with the latest version of Android (version 10) out-of-the-box with OnePlus' OxygenOS 10 running atop.

The OnePlus Special Event will kick off at 7 pm tonight in New Delhi. The event will be live streamed on the company's YouTube and Facebook pages. The OnePlus TV will also be launched at the event. You can read more about that here.
