Chinese smartphone maker Realme is set to launch the Realme X smartphone in India and it has announced that the smartphone will come in the "Onion and Garlic" colour variant designed by Naoto Fukasawa, a Japanese designer.

The Realme X was launched at an event in Beijing, China last month with a notch-less AMOLED display and a pop-up selfie camera.

The Chinese variant of the Realme X comes with a 6.53-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080x2340 pixels at a pixel density of 394 pixels per inch (ppi) and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

The device is powered by a 2.2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor that features 2 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and 6 cores clocked at 1.7GHz and runs ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie .

It runs Android 9 Pie and is powered by a 3,765mAh battery. The Realme X supports VOOC fast charging.

In terms of optics, the smartphone houses a 48MP primary camera and a second 5MP camera with an f/2.4 aperture and a 16MP camera on the front for selfies.

Realme CEO Madhav Sheth in a tweet last month said the Indian variant of the smartphone will come with different specifications to cut costs and match the 18,000 price-point.

The company is also working on the world's first 64MP camera smartphone.

Posting a teaser photo of the upcoming device on Twitter Monday, Chief Executive Officer Madhav Sheth wrote: "Working on the new premium killer! Introducing world's first smartphone camera with 64MP GW1 largest 1/1.72" sensor and mega 1.6µm pixel with amazing clear shots in low light too. RT if you want to see more "knockout" shots. #DareToLeap."
