Reliance Jio Fiber’s ₹849 Silver monthly plan: Everything you need to know

Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio today unveiled Jio Fiber's broadband plans. The service is available in six tiers — Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Platinum and Titanium — with prices ranging between ₹699 and ₹8,499. The Silver plan is priced at ₹849 and the second most affordable offering in the line-up.
Jio Fiber Silver: Hidden costs, monthly data and benefits
— The Jio Fiber Silver plan offers speeds up to 100Mbps and a monthly data cap of 200GB.
— If you wish to get this plan, you will have to register yourself by visiting Jio website and submitting your name, address, mobile number and email id. Once the service is available in your area, you will be contacted by the Jio sales team to collect your documents and process your application.
— You will be required to make a one-time payment of ₹2,500 which comprises ₹1,500 security deposit and ₹1,000 non-refundable installation.
— The prices are exclusive of GST and extra data is available on long term plans as an introductory benefit.
— The plan will come bundled with subscriptions to most leading premium OTT applications. Just like Jio Fiber's Bronze plan, the Silver users will also get three-month access to JioCinema and JioSaavn.
Jio Fiber Silver: Long term plans and estimated prices
Those opting in for Jio Fiber's long-term plans for the Silver tier will receive a free Muse Thump 2 (12W) speakers worth ₹3,999.
The long term plans are available in 3, 6 and 12-month (annual) subscriptions. Jio hasn't clearly mentioned the final price for any of these long term plans, but it has given the amount of money you'd save if you go for them.
The 3-month plan will get you 25% extra data on top of the original data cap, so you will get 750GB of data for the same duration. Jio hasn't mentioned any savings on this plan, so you should get this one for about ₹2,550 for three months.
You will get 50% extra data in the 6-month plan on top of the original data cap. This means you will get 1,800GB of data for the same duration. You will also enjoy a month of Jio Fiber service for free, as the plan claims to save you ₹849. Your final price for plan should be around ₹4,245 for six months.
Finally, if you opt for the annual plan, you will get two-times the original data offering. This means you will get 4,800GB of data for a year. This long term plan also gets you two months of Jio Fiber service for free, meaning you will save ₹1,698. Your final amount should come to about ₹9,340 for 12 months.
