NEW DELHI : With the launch of its landline connection under the Jio Fiber stable, Reliance Jio has now launched a new service that allows you to answer landline calls on a mobile phone. You can even use the facility to make video calls from your fixed line number.
With plans starting from ₹699, Jio Fiber broadband comes bundled with a free landline connection. Using the JioCall app, you can make your fixed line connection smart by using your smartphone to make both video and audio calls.
All you need to do is to download the JioCall (earlier Jio4Gvoice) app from the Google Play Store and configure your 10-digit Jio fixed line number on the app.
This Jio service is, however, available only to those users who either have a Jio sim card or are using Jio Fiber or JioFi connection.
After choosing the 'FixedLine Profile' on your JioCall app, you can make or receive calls from your fixed line number conveniently on your smartphone. Jio users get HD voice and video calling.
In case if your society is also on the Jio network, you can even use your smartphone for intercom calling within the society.
The JioCall app also allows you to use any JioFiber connected TV to make video and conference calls from home.
Offering minimum internet speed of 100 Mbps for ₹699 a month, Jio had launched its fibre-based broadband service last September. With plans going up to ₹8,499, Jio Fiber comes with free voice calls anywhere in India, unlimited high-speed data along with a set-top box.
