Samsung India will be launching the successor to the Galaxy M20 today. The South Korean company will be launching a new mid-range smartphone in India. Originally, Samsung has scheduled the launch for 16 March. However, due to the Covid-19 outbreak the launch event was postponed to March 18 at 12 PM. Samsung India later changed the time to 2PM.

The new Samsung device is expected to be priced under 15,000 and will be competing against popular Redmi and Realme phones in the segment. Given the situation, Samsung won’t be conducting a grand launch event, instead, users who subscribe to the dedicated Galaxy M21 page on Amazon India's website will be notified about the launch.

So far, Samsung has revealed a few impressive specifications about the Galaxy M21. The smartphone will come with a 48MP primary camera and 20MP front facing sensor. The device will get a water-drop notch on top of the screen. The screen will be a sAMOLED display which will be powered by a massive 6000mAh battery unit. Looking at the pictures used for promotion of the device, the main camera seems to feature a triple-lens setup.

Samsung also launched the Galaxy M31 recently. The device is placed in the mid-range segment but will be slightly expensive when compared to the M21. For reference, the M31 starts at a price of 14,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant. The 6GB/128GB storage variant is priced at 15,999. The Galaxy M31 also gets an additional camera lens with the quad-lens setup. The primary lens on the Galaxy M31 is a 64MP lens whereas the M21 gets a 48MP lens.

Similar to the Galaxy M21, Samsung Galaxy M31 features a massive 6000mAh battery. The M31 also gets 15W charging through a USB Type C port. The back panel also features a capacitive fingerprint sensor. The phone also gets Bluetooth 5.0 and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Galaxy M31 uses Samsung’s Exynos 9611 chipset which is paired with either 4GB or 6GB RAM.
