Samsung to launch Galaxy M21 today: Here’s what to expect

Samsung India will be launching the successor to the Galaxy M20 today. The South Korean company will be launching a new mid-range smartphone in India. Originally, Samsung has scheduled the launch for 16 March. However, due to the Covid-19 outbreak the launch event was postponed to March 18 at 12 PM. Samsung India later changed the time to 2PM.
The new Samsung device is expected to be priced under ₹15,000 and will be competing against popular Redmi and Realme phones in the segment. Given the situation, Samsung won’t be conducting a grand launch event, instead, users who subscribe to the dedicated Galaxy M21 page on Amazon India's website will be notified about the launch.
So far, Samsung has revealed a few impressive specifications about the Galaxy M21. The smartphone will come with a 48MP primary camera and 20MP front facing sensor. The device will get a water-drop notch on top of the screen. The screen will be a sAMOLED display which will be powered by a massive 6000mAh battery unit. Looking at the pictures used for promotion of the device, the main camera seems to feature a triple-lens setup.
Samsung also launched the Galaxy M31 recently. The device is placed in the mid-range segment but will be slightly expensive when compared to the M21. For reference, the M31 starts at a price of ₹14,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant. The 6GB/128GB storage variant is priced at ₹15,999. The Galaxy M31 also gets an additional camera lens with the quad-lens setup. The primary lens on the Galaxy M31 is a 64MP lens whereas the M21 gets a 48MP lens.
Similar to the Galaxy M21, Samsung Galaxy M31 features a massive 6000mAh battery. The M31 also gets 15W charging through a USB Type C port. The back panel also features a capacitive fingerprint sensor. The phone also gets Bluetooth 5.0 and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Galaxy M31 uses Samsung’s Exynos 9611 chipset which is paired with either 4GB or 6GB RAM.
