WhatsApp beta for Android received an update recently that has brought three new features to it. These include consecutive voice messages, forwarding info and audio file info. The features are available in WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.19.154.

Consecutive voice messages

The new feature allows automatic queuing of voice messages. All you will have to do is to tap on the play button and WhatsApp will play all the voice messages in a row for you. This feature was spotted on WhatsApp beta for iOS (v 2.18.100).

Forwarding info

This feature lets the user know how many times a message has been forwarded. This information is available for sent messages only, because users can navigate into Message Info only for the messages they have sent.

Audio info

This feature shows the name of the audio messages that you forward or upload natively. Until now audio files didn't really have their names displayed in chats. This made it very confusing during the times a user sent multiple audio files in a conversation. This feature displays the name of the audio file in a chat.

WhatsApp on earlier this month was found to have put its users at risk, because of a vulnerability in its code. Attackers used WhatsApp's voice calling feature to call up a victim's device, that in-turn installed the surveillance software. The surveillance software would be installed even the receiver didn't pick up the call. The company patched the app through an update, and encouraged users to update immediately.
