PremiumApple has finally unveiled its new mixed reality headset, VisionPro, at its WWDC 2023 event at Apple Park in Cupertino. It is the first time in about 3 years that Apple has entered a new hardware category. The virtual and augmented reality headset will be powered by the M2 chipset along with Apple's new R1 processor. The product comes with 12 cameras, five sensors and six microphones.
Apple has also released the new visionOS specifically for the Mixed Reality headset, allowing users to " design brand new app experiences and reimagine existing ones for spatial computing". Apple calls visionOS the world's first spatial operating system. visionOS is built on the foundations of iOS and iPadOS, meaning the headset will be compatible with many existing apps. Apple has also announced that Microsoft Office applications and video conferencing applications such as WebEX and Zoom will also be available on VisionPro.
Vision Pro's multi-tasking is enabled and has been made to visualize images and three-dimensional renders in a mixed-reality environment.
Apple's Vice President ( Technology Development Group) Mike Rockwell while speaking about the new product said, “Through a tight integration of hardware and software, we designed a standalone spatial computer in a compact wearable form factor that is the most advanced personal electronics device ever."
When will Apple VisionPro be released in India?
Apple's VisionPro headset is expected to launch in the US in the first quarter of 2024. After the US launch, the headset could soon be released in other countries, including India.
What is the expected price of VisionPro in India?
The VisionPro headset is priced at $3,499, which roughly translates to around ₹2,89,000. While this is not the official price of the VisionPro, the mixed reality headset could be released in India at around the same price.
