PremiumChinese electronics maker Xiaomi on Thursday announced a new service that guarantees next-day delivery of its products. "Xiaomi Express Delivery" claims to deliver Mi goods a day after they have been ordered in over 150 cities across India. The service is available as a delivery option on Mi.com at a charge of ₹49. The orders need to be placed by 3 pm to receive guaranteed next-day delivery service.
Xiaomi earlier introduced the service to Bangalore last year. However, it didn't levy any additional costs to its customers.
Xiaomi India chief Manu Kumar Jain in a tweet said that the delivery option is applicable to over 90 products.
Xiaomi, with this announcement, is clearly trying to compete with its retail partners Amazon and Flipkart. The two e-commerce websites have been offering quick delivery options through Amazon Prime and Flipkart Plus memberships.
The company has launched a slew of devices this year under Mi and Redmi brand names. Some notable launches this year include the Redmi Note 7-series and Redmi 7. The company will soon launch Redmi K20-series of devices in India to take on the likes of affordable flagships like OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro.
