Xiaomi has launched the Redmi K30 Pro in China and it will be the company’s new flagship for its sub-brand, Redmi. The Redmi K30 Pro comes with a flagship chipset and follows the footsteps of the previous generation of the ‘K Pro’ series. Along with the Redmi K30 Pro, Xiaomi also unveiled the K30 Pro Zoom Edition that comes with a 8MP telephoto lens that supports 30x zoom in comparison to the 5MP macro lens on the standard version.
The Redmi K30 Pro will be available in three variants. The base variant of the phone comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It is priced at RMB 2,999 (approximately ₹32,500). The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at RMB 3,399 (approximately ₹36,600). The highest variant of the Redmi K30 Pro comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage and is priced at RMB 3,699 (approximately ₹40,000).
The Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition comes in two variants. The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at RMB 3,799 (approximately ₹41,000) and the second variant comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which is priced at RMB 3,999 (approximately ₹43,000). The smartphone will go on sale from 4 April.
Coming to the specs of the Redmi K30 Pro, the device features the best chipset offered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon line-up. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 865. The processor is supported by up to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The device also gets a 5G modem and up to 256GB of 3.1 UFS storage. The smartphone gets a vapour chamber (VC) liquid cooling to dissipate heat from the chipset.
Similar to the previous iteration, the Redmi K30 Pro features a pop-up selfie camera which houses a 20MP lens. The pop-up camera allows a notchless screen with a real estate of 6.67-inches. The screen also gets HDR10+ support and can achieve a peak brightness of 1200 nits and the touch sampling rate is 180Hz. However, Xiaomi opted for a standard 60Hz refresh rate for the display.
In the camera department, the phone features a quad rear camera setup which includes a 64MP primary sensor with OIS, a 13MP wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. As mentioned earlier, the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition gets a 8MP telephoto lens with OIS and 30x zoom instead of the 5MP macro sensor.
The K30 Pro gets a 4,700mAh battery which supports 33W fast charging. The device gets a USB Type C port as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.
