Xiaomi is expected to launch two new smartphones tomorrow according to co-founder and CEO Lei Jun.
Lei teased the device on the Chinese social media platform Weibo and said that it would be announced "tomorrow (Friday the 21st) at 10 am".
Code-named “Little Fairy", the smartphone is expected to be the first Meitu-branded smartphone. Xiaomi acquired the Meitu brand in November last year. Following its acquisition, Xiaomi didn't release any smartphones under the Meitu brand name.
XDA Developers believes that another smartphone named Mi CC9 that is rumoured to be launched soon might as well be the "Little Fairy". According to an unofficial render, the smartphone will host a motorised flip-up camera, much like the Asus 6z (Zenfone 6).
The smartphone will have a colorful design featuring shifting pink and pearl hues. It is also expected to come with female-specific beauty filters.
In terms of specifications, the phone will feature an AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint reader. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC. The flip camera is expected to come with a 48MP main sensor with additional telephoto and ultrawide modules.
Mind you, these details are just rumours, so they should be taken with a grain of salt.
