Amarnath Yatra

The annual Shri Amarnath Ji pilgrimage commenced with over 4800 devotees departing from Jammu. Arrangements for security, crowd management, and food safety have been established to ensure a smooth experience for the pilgrims throughout the 57-day yatra, ending on August 28.

Amarnath yatra 2026 will commence on July 3 and will conclude on Raksha Bandhan on August 28.

Amarnath Yatra 2026 dates announced: Pilgrims between the ages of 13 and 70 can undertake the yatra and registrations will begin from April 15, the LG told reporters at the Lok Bhavan here.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has said more than 4 lakh pilgrims have visited the Amarnath shrine. Sinha praised the event for showcasing India's unity and providing a profound spiritual experience for devotees.

A woman pilgrim, Sona Bai (55), died and three others were injured in a landslide during the Amarnath Yatra.

This comes a day after a woman pilgrim died and three sustained injuries in a landslide along the Baltal route of the yatra in Ganderbal district.

Ramban SSP Kulbir Singh revealed that saving three or four, all other pilgrims are willing to continue their Amarnath Yatra after first aid.
