Gold ETF alone saw inflows worth ₹24,040 crore, which is nearly double of December's ₹11,647 crore. Meanwhile, silver ETFs recorded a ₹9,463 crore inflow, highlighting the rising interest of investors in exchange-traded products that are not equities.

Equity mutual fund inflows fell 6.21% to ₹28,054.06 crore in December 2025, with total AUM declining to ₹79.98 lakh crore.

Nippon Life India AMC, HDFC AMC, Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC, UTI AMC, and Canara Robeco AMC saw losses up to 3% as equity mutual fund inflows dropped 19% in October, marking a third consecutive month of decline, according to AMFI data.

While sectoral funds gained popularity with record inflows, analysts urge caution. They advise retail investors to diversify to mitigate risks, as historical trends indicate that concentrated investments in specific sectors often lead to underperformance in the long run.

Equity mutual fund inflows jumped 81% in July 2025 to ₹42,702 crore, up from ₹23,587 crore in June, AMFI data showed. Overall mutual fund AUM rose to ₹75.35 lakh crore.

Gold ETFs surged over sixfold to ₹2,080.9 crore in June, while other ETFs dropped 79% to ₹844.4 crore. Equity mutual fund inflows rose 24% to ₹23,568 crore, contributing to a total mutual fund inflow increase of 67% to ₹49,301 crore in June.

Mid cap mutual funds refer to the schemes which invest at least 65 per cent in the mid cap stocks. There are 29 mid cap mutual fund schemes with net assets under management (AUMs) amounting to ₹3,99,784 crore.

AMFI data: December 2024 recorded an inflow of ₹41,155 crore in equity mutual funds, vis-a-vis ₹35,943.4 crore the previous month.
