Apple's Make-In-India Push; May Shift 18% iPhone Production to India by FY25

Apple is doubling down on its India plans. It is planning to shift more than 18% of its iPhone production to India. For the global tech giant, India is now a preferred manufacturing location. Modi government’s PLI scheme is driving increased mobile phone assembly and production in the country and companies like Apple are responding to government’s call to make in India. Why India is important to Apple | Mint Explains | Mint

The video highlights how India is emerging as a strong market for Apple and its products. Apple CEO Tim Cook recently visited India and opened two new Apple stores, signaling India's emergence as a strategic priority for the company. With supply chains shifting away from China as its smartphone market becomes saturated with iPhone users, analysts suggest that Apple should increase its marketing and retail efforts in India. Apple has less than 5% of the smartphone market in India, but the government wants to collaborate with Apple to enable manufacturing, which could help increase the company's revenue potential. However, growth may take time, and Apple will need to bridge the price gap and increase its marketing and retail efforts. Overall, India is critical to Apple's sales growth and a key strategic market for the company. #appleindia #apple #appleindiainvestment #wwdc23 #mint Click here to download the Mint App https://livemint.onelink.me/MrDS/p0kx3pdg
