Fuel prices remained unchanged on Monday, 1 June. The last fuel price hike was on Monday, 25 May, when both petrol and diesel prices were increased by over ₹2.50 per litre.

IOC Q3 Results: Refining margins surged on low prices of crude oil, the raw material IOC uses to make fuels like petrol and diesel. Fuel sales also rose 5 per cent in the quarter.

Maharatna oil PSU BPCL announced that the company will hold its quarterly board meeting on Friday, 31 October 2025. The firm will also declare its interim dividend and Q2 results 2025 on the same day.

HPCL share price fell as much as 3.47%, BPCL shares declined 2.53%, and Indian Oil Corporation stock price dropped 2.13%. Among other energy stocks, Oil India shares slipped 2.05%, Mahanagar Gas stock price shed 2.71%, and Reliance Industries share price lost 1.18%.

Fuel and energy security is key to the public life and economic operations of the country. India has been witnessing a record growth in petrol and diesel consumption in the past years, and is expected to maintain the momentum this year.

BPCL Dividend: BPCL will announce the record date for its final dividend in a separate exchange filing. According to the OMC's statement, the final dividend will be paid within 30 days from the declaration at the annual general meeting.

Analysts remain bearish on Indian OMC stocks despite falling global crude prices. They anticipate unsustainable auto fuel marketing margins due to potential government excise duty hikes and risks from LPG under-recoveries. JM Financial has a 'Sell' rating on HPCL, IOCL, and a 'Hold' on BPCL.

The three state-run OMCs, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, saw a sharp movement in their share prices after the government announced a hike in excise duty on petrol and diesel.
