Shah said that the transformation from a paper to digital census would be completed in 2021 itself. The Home Minister also floated the idea of a multipurpose identity card for citizens with all utilities like Aadhaar, passport, driving licence and bank accounts. The Home Minister also added that there should also be a system that when a person dies, the information is updated in the population data automatically.
