BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Wednesday hinted at tax sops if his party wins the national election, and vowed to bring back unaccounted money that’s stashed abroad. The tax system should not burden taxpayers and instead benefit both taxpayers and the collecting authority, Modi said after launching the BJP’s new outreach programme Chai Pe Charcha (teatime chat), in which senior BJP leaders will hold meetings over tea with people at 1,000 stalls in 300 cities. The Gujarat chief minister promised that if his party forms the government at the Centre after the Lok Sabha election that’s due by May, he would return 5-10% income tax as a gift to the people
