February normally marks the unofficial beginning of the tourist season in Greece, and cruise ships start arriving at Santorini, one of its most picturesque islands and a tourist hotspot. However, this year, the first cruise ship arrived there only in end March. This because the island was hit by a whopping over 20,000 earthquakes between 26th January and 22nd February. An emergency was declared, people fled from there and shops and restaurants and schools were closed, thousands of residents and temporary workers left the island. But now, Greece says the cosmopolitan island is safe and ready to welcome tourists. The first cruise ship docked with about 1200 passengers on board, who were mostly Americans. So is it now safe to visit? Watch!
