Early PMI data shows manufacturing easing to a multi-month low while services continue to support overall private-sector expansion.

April saw a rebound in India's private sector growth. The HSBC Flash PMI revealed stronger manufacturing output and job creation, although inflation pressures remained high, with firms raising selling prices in response.

India’s services sector grew at the softest pace in 14 months during March, mirroring the slowdown in growth of new business intakes, as West Asia conflict hit domestic demand, a private survey showed on Monday.

The HSBC flash India Composite Output Index, which tracks month-to-month changes in combined output across manufacturing and services, jumped to 65.2 in August from 61.1 in July.

At 60.7 in July, the HSBC flash purchasing managers index was little-changed from June's final print of 61, signalling another month of high growth, S&P said.

While manufacturing showed a slight slowdown in growth, the services sector posted its fastest output rise in 14 months, the survey noted.

The rate of expansion in new orders was the slowest in the year, suggesting weaker growth in future production.
