Over 80 international and domestic flights of Air India Express were cancelled after the senior crew members of the airline went on mass ‘sick leave’. The development came after several cabin crew members started reporting sick since Monday evening and as there are not enough cabin crew members, “scores of flights” have been cancelled at various airports, including Kochi, Calicut and Bangalore.

Vistara Crisis - Over 20% of Vistara flights over the weekend and on Monday were either cancelled or severely delayed, because there were no pilots to fly them. In fact, the issue has escalated to an extent that Vistara has now reduced their number of daily flights - they’ve cut short over 50 flights from Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru to deal with the crew shortage. India’s youngest airline, Akasa Air, has placed an order for 150 Boeing 737 MAX narrowbody planes. This will boost its operations in the rapidly growing Indian aviation market. The order was announced at the Wings India air show in Hyderabad. The latest order, comprising 737 MAX 10 and 737 MAX 8-200 jets, will provide the airline a steady stream of aircraft deliveries through 2032. Earlier, while talking to Abhishek Singh, Deputy Editor, Mint on its new show, Rollin’ With The Boss, Akasa Co-founder Aditya Ghosh had revealed the airline’s future plans.

Passengers of a Goa Delhi Indigo flight which was delayed by over 10 hours were seen eating their dinner on the Mumbai airport tarmac. How did this happen? Well, the flight which had already been delayed was diverted to Mumbai. Frustrated passengers got out of the airplane, sat on the tarmac itself and had their food. This happened on a day when hundreds of flights were delayed and many were cancelled, because the national capital saw dense fog conditions and there was almost visibility at the Delhi airport for a few hours.
