FPIs net bought Indian equities worth ₹22,615 crore in February, according to data from National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL). Previously, FPIs had invested ₹57,724 crore in September 2024.

FIIs have been net sellers of Indian stocks to the tune of over ₹155,000 crore in 2025 so far, largely plagued by a weak Indian rupee, steep 50% tariffs on India by the US President Donald Trump and high valuations and slowdown in earnings.

Major global brokerages have upgraded India's stock market outlook, citing signs of earnings revival and government reforms. While the Sensex has underperformed, analysts predict a turnaround could occur as AI trade weakens and corporate earnings improve.

FPI outflows from the Indian stock market stood at ₹23,885 crore in September, taking the total outflow in the calendar year through October 7 to over ₹1.61 lakh crore.

In 2025, FPIs sold ₹2,27,500 crore in Indian stocks in the cash segment but tripled their investments in IPOs to ₹26,500 crore
