Nvidia's impressive earnings report has sparked debate about the AI sector's growth potential versus bubble risks. While some experts warn of overheated valuations, others argue that the long-term outlook for AI remains strong.

Futures for Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index were at 25,975, slightly below the previous close of 25,906.65. South Korea’s Kospi rose 1.04 per cent, and the Kosdaq added 0.51 per cent at the open.

South Korea’s Kospi hit record high on Thursday, opened 1.37 per cent higher, supported by gains in auto and shipbuilding stocks, while the Kosdaq slipped 0.1 per cent.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 climbed over 1 per cent to a new record high on Wednesday amid mixed trading across Asian markets. The Topix index was little changed, while South Korea’s Kospi edged up 0.17 per cent and the Kosdaq slipped 0.25 per cent.
