Hero MotoCorp's Vida will launch the VX2 electric scooter in India on July 1. Targeting budget-conscious consumers, the VX2 features drum brakes, a simpler design, and a Battery-as-a-Service option, enhancing accessibility in the competitive entry-level EV market.

The heavy industries ministry is seeking to recover ₹167 crore in subsidies from Hero Electric Vehicles amid insolvency proceedings, accusing the company of fraudulently claiming benefits under the FAME 2 scheme.

Hero Motorcorp has already commenced the expansion plan with eight new cities – Pune, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Nasik, Hyderabad, Chennai, Calicut and Kochi.

According to the electric two-wheeler brand, the recently launched Optima CX5.0 is now offered in Dark Matt Blue and Matt Maroon colors, while the Optima CX.20 is available in Dark Matt Blue and Charcoal Black. Similarly, the NYX is now available in Charcoal Black and Pearl White color options.

As per the teaser video, the electric scooter will feature an LED headlamp positioned at the front cowl.
