Stock market holiday: BSE and NSE have announced a trading holiday on Thursday. Thus, investors must note that the Indian stock market is closed for trading today, January 15, as the BSE and NSE are shut. The trading will resume on January 16, Friday.

LIC bought 2,02,500 shares of Sun Pharma from the open market, amounting to a 0.008% stake, from the open market on January 13. With this, LIC's stake in the blue-chip pharma stock has jumped to 5.004% from 4.996% earlier.

Vedanta subsidiary Hindustan Zinc, on 14 January 2026, announced that the board will hold its quarterly meeting for the October to December period on Monday, 19 January 2026. The company will announce its October-December quarter results on the same day.

The Indian stock market continued its decline on January 14, with the Nifty 50 down 0.37% and Sensex down 0.16%. Despite support from metal stocks and PSU banks, technology stocks faced heavy selling, while broader markets showed positive signs.

The Sensex dropped 245 points, or 0.29%, to end at 83,382.71, while the Nifty 50 fell 67 points, or 0.26%, to settle at 25,665.60. The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices closed the day 0.16% and 0.25% higher, respectively.

HDFC AMC Q3 Results: HDFC Asset Management Company (AMC) reported strong third-quarter results for the financial year 2025-2 (FY26) as its profit and revenue grew in double-digits during the October-December period.

IOB Q3 results: The bank posted a 56% year-on-year (YoY) rise in its net profit to ₹1,365 crore in the December quarter FY26, from ₹873.6 crore in the same quarter previous year.

BSE and NSE announced that Thursday, January 15, will be a trading holiday in the equity and equity derivatives segment on account of the Municipal Corporation Election in Maharashtra.

Stalled trade deal, fresh tariff threats by US President Donald Trump and relentless selling by foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have kept the stock market sentiment subdued in January so far. The Nifty 50 index is already down 1.4% during the first 10 trading days of the year.

The small-cap stock opened in the red at ₹31.28 in the early morning session on Wednesday. However, the stock pared losses, gained nearly 10% from the intraday low level.
