Hindustan Copper, Hindustan Zinc, GMDC, and Vedanta are among the key metal stocks poised to benefit from India's critical minerals drive. As demand for EVs and renewables rises, these companies are strategically positioned in the market.

Hindustan Zinc fell as much as 4.7% to its day's low of ₹592.05. NALCO declined 3.8% to ₹369, while Vedanta dropped 3.7% to ₹276.50. Hindalco shed 3% to ₹1,005.30. Hind Copper also declined 2.5% to ₹520.20 during the session.

The Indian government plans to sell up to 6% stake in Hindustan Copper through an OFS, with a floor price of ₹514 per share, reflecting a 10.45% discount. The stock has risen 17% in August due to increased global copper prices and supply concerns.

Rhetan TMT's 1 MW solar power project in Gujarat has begun generating electricity for its manufacturing facility, reflecting the company's shift to operational sustainability.

Rajputana Stainless reported 32.4% year-on-year growth in its revenue from operations to ₹306.54 crore for Q1 FY27. Profit after tax rose 80.5% to ₹20.20 crore from ₹11.19 crore in Q1FY26.

As per the BSE data, Shyam Metalics shares have gained over 23% year-to-date, while in a shorter timeframe of three months, it has gained nearly 21%. On a monthly scale, the stock is up over 9% so far in July.

Hindustan Zinc achieved record first-quarter production, with mined metal up 1% YoY to 268,000 kt. The company signed an MoU for green energy solutions and aims for net-zero emissions. However, shares dipped 16% in June amid silver price volatility and government stake sale rumors.

Nifty Metal is the leading sectoral performer on NSE following a 18% rally, adding ₹1,60,503 crore to investor wealth. At the same time, the Nifty 50 index has slumped by over 8%.

Metal stocks surged on May 13, driven by rising gold and silver prices after the government raised import duties on precious metals. Hindustan Zinc led the gains, with Nifty Metal climbing 1.3%. Gold and silver prices hit upper circuits, reflecting strong buying interest.
