It will be tabled during the monsoon session for parliamentary approval. As an internet user, your personal data is collected, sorted, and used by apps and websites you use and visit. If not protected by law, this data could be misused by businesses. To prevent data misuse, and offer citizens resolution in case of breaches this law was necessary.

19 Jun 2023The Centre announced today that it will investigate the claim that WhatsApp improperly accessed the microphone on users' devices. This after an engineer for Twitter alleged earlier this week that WhatsApp had been utilising his microphone while he was asleep. The Indian government also took note of the matter, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that the matter will be looked into.
