The Supreme Court was hearing multiple applications, some of which were filed by former Sahara employees seeking unpaid salaries.

Sahara India seeks Supreme Court approval to sell 88 properties to pay off debts. The Centre asked for more time to respond, leading to a six-week adjournment. The apex court also addressed employee claims for pending salaries, with discussions on asset disclosure ongoing.

Adani Properties said the company was willing to acquire all 88 properties in one go, even if some assets were subject to disputes, to avoid prolonged litigation. The 88 properties listed in Sahara’s plea include Aamby Valley City (Maharashtra) and Sahara Shaher (Lucknow)

The Enforcement Directorate arrested two people who allegedly played a ‘key role’ in siphoning money and disposing of properties, among other things, the agency found in its investigations. The two were presented in front of a local court and are currently under legal custody until 14 July 2025.

Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday attached ₹1,460 crore property of Aamby Valley in Maharashtra's Lonavala in a money laundering case against the Sahara Group. The property has large golf courses, lakes, villas, chalets and cottages.

The Supreme Court has asked Sebi to assess proposals from Oberoi and Valor Realty for developing Sahara Group's 106-acre land in Mumbai. Each developer must deposit ₹1,000 crore, untouched until a decision is reached regarding Sahara's ₹10,000 crore dues.

Sahara Group must disclose details about executives and unencumbered properties to raise ₹10,000 crore for investor refunds, as ordered by the Supreme Court. The order follows years of non-compliance since a 2012 ruling.

On August 4, Amit Shah, disbursed the initial refund installment of Rs 10,000 to 112 depositors who had submitted their requests via the CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal. Individuals anticipating the refund amount are advised to verify their balances to ascertain the successful receipt of the refund.

To reclaim deposits made in a Sahara society in the past, depositors can follow a six-step process on the portal launched on Tuesday for this very purpose.

The central government will inaugurate the “Sahara refund portal” to facilitate the submission of claims by depositors today. This portal will streamline the process and provide a convenient platform for depositors to submit their claims.
