The weather office has warned of a low to moderate flash flood risk in parts of Chhattisgarh, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Odisha over the next 24 hours, with widespread rainfall expected across northwest and central India in the coming days.

IMD has forecast widespread rain across Punjab, Haryana and Delhi from 28 July, boosting paddy transplantation, while Odisha and Chhattisgarh face flash flood threats from a deepening Bay of Bengal depression.

Uttarakhand rains have triggered a flash-flood risk in Dehradun and other districts, with rivers flowing near the danger mark. Multiple districts, including Nainital, are on IMD red alert today.
