Stefon Diggs made an emotional return to Buffalo Bills, but as a New England Patriots player this time. The former Bills star stepped onto Highmark Stadium in New England Patriots colors, facing the team and fans he once played for.
The Buffalo Bills vs New England Patriots game is going on at the moment. The Patriots are leading 13-10.
Before kickoff, Diggs told NBC’s Melissa Stark that the moment felt “nostalgic” and full of respect for Buffalo’s fans and teammates.
The 30-year-old receiver, who signed a three-year deal with New England in March for $63.5 million, was booed by Bills fans as he entered the field. He exchanged hugs with Josh Allen and other ex-teammates, including a long embrace with coach Sean McDermott.
The boos seemed to stem from hurt feelings. Many fans saw his move to a rival team as betrayal. Diggs’ time in Buffalo was marked by strong performances and emotional highs.
The boos for Stefon Diggs come as Nicki Minaj and Diggs’ new girlfriend, Cardi B, are locked in a fierce public feud. The fight began when Nicki Minaj mocked the sales of Cardi B’s new album, Am I the Drama?. She claimed the numbers were inflated and criticized her for steep discounts.
The NFL shared a video of Diggs' entry while keeping it muted. However, many other social media accounts posted videos that clearly make the boos audible.
Cardi B struck back hard, accusing Minaj of comparing herself to younger artists and telling her to measure her success against legends like Rihanna and Taylor Swift.
Their feud quickly turned personal. They hurled insults about each other’s families, children and romantic relationships. Nicki attacked Cardi B’s daughter; Cardi B retaliated with allegations about Minaj’s son and family.
Stefon Diggs was thrust into the drama when Nicki Minaj made crude remarks referencing him and his relationship with Cardi. She claimed Cardi got pregnant by Diggs in a messy way.
“...got pregnant wit another monkey,” the Trinidadian rapper wrote in a viral post on social media. The Twitter (now X) post on October 2 has gotten nearly 2 million views so far.
Diggs himself has not publicly responded. He has focused on football and posted cryptic messages unrelated to the fight.
He earlier shared an Instagram Story with Veeze's track, L.O.A.T. He wrote on his photo, "You better stop doing that pocket watchin'. Keep a good eye on your h**."
