Artemis II Launch: What 4 Astronauts Will Do In 10 Days Of Earth’s Biggest Moon Mission In 50 Years

Artemis II: NASA’s Historic Crewed Moon Mission Launches April 1 – First in Over 50 Years! NASA has begun the final countdown for Artemis II — the first crewed mission to the Moon since Apollo 17 in 1972. On April 1, 2026 (6:24 PM EDT / 3:24 AM IST), four astronauts will lift off aboard the massive SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft. The 10-day flight will test Orion in deep space, swing around the far side of the Moon, and break the Apollo 13 record for farthest humans have ever travelled from Earth (nearly 250,000 miles). Crew: • Reid Wiseman (Commander) • Victor Glover (Pilot) • Christina Koch (first woman to the Moon) • Jeremy Hansen (first non-American beyond Earth orbit) This is the dress rehearsal for Artemis III’s lunar landing in 2027.
