Polls on horizon, Centre hikes dearness pay, gives Aadhaar relief to farmers

Union cabinet yesterday announced its decision to hike dearness allowance of central govt employees. In another move, the govt also decided to extend the deadline for farmers to link bank accounts to Aadhaar. Aadhaar seeding became mandatory to receive PM-KISAAN income support after Aug 1, 2019. The deadline to link Aadhaar has now been extended to November 30, 2019. The decisions have come just weeks ahead of the Maharashtra and Haryana polls.
