5 ANIMALS WHO RETURNED FROM THE EDGE OF EXTINCTION

We have lost hundreds of species due to human-related changes, like loss of habitat over years. But many brave creatures bounced back from the brink of extinction due to well-coordinated conservation efforts

Here are some animals who came back from the brink of extinction

Blue Iguana

Unique blue iguana faced near extinction by 2002. But in 2018, they were rebounded  with 1,000 more through conservation efforts and programs.  

Sea Otter

Sea otters were nearly extinct from fur hunting. But now, they are recovering due to protection and reintroduction efforts.

Southern White Rhinoceros

There are only two white rhinoceros females left. But scientists hope for their survival with intensive conservation and assisted reproduction techniques

Peregrine Falcon

This majestic bird of prey nearly faced extinction due to pesticides, but conservation efforts and DDT bans have significantly improved its populations.

Giant Panda

China's Giant Panda population rose from 1,000 to 1,800 due to habitat restoration and successful captive breeding efforts.
