NEW FACIAL RECOGNITION-BASED ENTRY SYSTEM LAUNCHED

Union government launched Digi Yatra for New Delhi, Varanasi and Bengaluru airports on December 1
It will achieve contactless, seamless processing of passengers at airports based on Facial Recognition Technology
Passengers will have to go through paperless & contactless checkpoints using facial recognition technology
The recognition would be linked to the passenger's boarding pass
To use this feature, passenger's will have to register on the Digi Yatra app

The registration would include Aadhaar-based validation and a self-image capture
The project would later be launched at Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, and Vijayawada airports by March 2023
Later on, the technology will be implemented across the country
