Auroras dazzle in THESE countries as extreme solar storm hit Earth

NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) said that an extreme (G5) solar storm reached Earth leading to spectacular celestial light shows in skies from Tasmania to Britain.

It added that it is the first extreme geomagnetic storm since October 2003 known as Halloween Storms which had caused blackouts in Sweden and damaged power infrastructure in South Africa.
