Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a mental health condition where people become hyperactive and impulsive. However, Ohio State University's study shows that 25% of adults in America have it, and social media influence plays an important role in triggering it.

What study reveals?

Based on a national survey of 1,000 American adults, the study showed social media videos helped adults to be undiagnosed with ADHD.

Who have ADHD?

An estimated 4.4 per cent of people ages 18 to 44 have ADHD, while few aren't diagnosed until they're older.

ADHD symptoms

ADHD symptoms include trouble focusing, forgetfulness about completing tasks, difficulty sitting still, being easily distracted and more.

What causes ADHD?

Research says a reduction in dopamine, a chemical in the brain triggering emotional responses and movements, is a factor in ADHD.
