The joint NASA-ISRO, NISAR satellite departed from California to India before launch
NISAR was given an auspicious send-off to India with a traditional ceremony

NASA also presented the ISRO delegation with a jar of JPL lucky peanuts
NISAR mission, launching in 2024, will systematically map Earth by using two radar frequencies
NISAR will deliver highly precise measurements of Earth's crust, ice sheets, and ecosystems
NISAR mission will employ interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) to monitor changes on Earth
