Voice calling allows users to connect to people across the world. However, the feature is being misused by people to scam Indians.

WhatsApp is working to solve the issue, but may stop around 50% of the spam calls.

There is no way to prevent spammers from calling you on WhatsApp but you can silence all calls from unknown numbers.

WhatsApp is currently testing a feature that allows users to silence unknown calls. It is currently available for selected beta users.

Open WhatsApp on your smartphone and click on the three dots menu. Now, click on “Settings”

Then, click on “Privacy” and click on “Calls”. Enable the toggle to silence unknown calls on WhatsApp.

The feature works the same way on both Android and iOS, the steps to enable the silence spam calls are different.

Open WhatsApp on your iPhone. Tap the “Settings” icon at the bottom right corner

Locate and tap the “Privacy” settings option, open the “Calls” menu and turn on the “Silence Unknown Callers” toggle.

This will silence all unknown calls but will still allow spammers to call you, you just won’t be notified when they do.
