Let's look at reasons why heart attacks are more common in winter
During winters, heart needs to pump more blood to stay warm. This makes the BP higher than usual.
Higher BP may also work with coronary arteries constricting that reduces blood and oxygen flow to heart.
Blood volume is also higher in winter as more fluid being retained leading to higher BP.
Body experiences hormonal changes in cold weather that may include higher cholesterol and clotting.
Lower physical activity leads to weight gain, and both these can contribute to higher chances of developing complication.
Lower levels of sun exposure can lead to deficiencies in Vitamin D that indirectly relates to cardiac issues.
